Why subscribe?

This is Mike Caprio’s mailing list that infrequently announces social good related hackathons in the New York tri-state area or in New England. You might not be interested in being on this list if you’re not in those areas or willing to travel to them. But if you’re a technologist, designer, or subject matter expert in the region who wants to do some good in the world, this is the list for you!

If you’re asking “What’s a hackathon?” the best analogy I can give is: hackathons are basically like those competition reality shows where people compete to overcome some challenge on a very tight timeline. In many cases a hackathon involves rapidly developing a prototype application (a Minimum Viable Product or MVP) that demonstrates a solution to a problem, and those solutions compete with each other in front of a panel of judges (just like Shark Tank or Iron Chef).
